Set in the historic Senate Theater in Detroit, this 1920βs Art Deco gem is not only known for its visual charm but also houses the worldβs 8th largest Wurlitzer pipe organ. Enjoy the classic concession stand, comfortable lounging areas, and the added convenience of secure parking.
Be sure to catch the enchanting Wurlitzer Pipe Organ pre-show by the Detroit Theater Organ Society, beginning at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm with the main show beginning at 8pm.
Tickets are $10 and advance tickets will be available on March 1st, along the full animation schedule. Please note, this event is recommended for a mature audience (18 and over) due to some content and themes.

On the autumnal eve of Saturday, September 28th, 2024, within the haunted halls of the historic Redford Theatre, the FESTIVAL OF DARKNESS returns.
Prepare to be immersed within a meticulous selection of short films, a tapestry of darkness, introspection and horror woven by local and distant filmmakers, unfolding over approximately 90 haunting minutes.
Admission is available online for $10, with the remains sold at the door prior to the event. Half of all ticket sales go to support the continued preservation and operations of the Redford Theater.

Within the hallowed walls, a meticulous selection of short films, a spectacle of darkness and horror crafted by local and distant filmmakers, shall grace the screen for approximately ninety haunting minutes.
Admission is limited and available online for ten dollars, with the remains sold at the door during the event. Half of all admissions will benefit New Path Villages, a Detroit non-profit creating self-managed communities of cost-effective tiny homes for people in need.

Join us on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 for the 8th Annual Detroit International Festival of Animation (DIFA). This celebration of animation will showcase a diverse range of works from local and international animators. With approximately 90 minutes of animated shorts on display, DIFA will feature a wide range of styles, from experimental and quirky to more sophisticated mini-features.
DIFA is now hosted at the historic Senate Theater in Detroit. This revitalized 1920βs Art Deco theater is home to the worldβs 8th largest Wurlitzer pipe organ and features 784 seats, a classic concession stand, comfy lounge areas and secure parking.
The 2023 schedule and advance tickets will be available by April 1st.

On Saturday October 1st 2022, the 1st annual Detroit International FESTIVAL OF DARKNESS will showcase the freshest of independent dark, horror, scifi and fantasy short films from local and international filmmakers. The festival will feature approximately 90 minutes of shorts ranging from experimental student projects to more sophisticated mini features.
The Festival of Darkness will be hosted at THE NARTHEX, a reanimated historic 1900βs church located within the East Canfield neighborhood of Detroit. Seating will include pew benches and individual seats for up to 250 patrons. A cash-only concession stand will be present and staffed parking is available for $5.
Advance tickets and schedule will be released by September 1st.

GIVING BACK β Half of the admission sales will benefit New Path Villages, a Detroit-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization creating self-managed communities of cost-effective tiny homes for people in need of housing. Housing is a basic human need that everyone deserves and New Path Villages seeks to bridge the often insurmountable gap between the street and conventional housing with an inclusive tiny home emergency shelter option.

On Saturday July 11 2020 comes a grand virtual event of tiny proportions called βSmall Wonders β An Exhibition of Tiny Art & Tiny Filmsβ.
During these difficult and most stressful times, this year’s event will be available for FREE ONLINE VIEWING for everyone to enjoy while safely isolating at home.
THE TINY ART will feature 38 works created from toilet paper, cardboard tubes and masks by local and international artists. The exhibition will be a virtual walk-through gallery starting at 12 noon Saturday July 11th and will be up until the rest of the month.
THE TINY FILMS will feature 18 short films, many created during social isolation, from local and international filmmakers. The films will begin on the Small Wonders website at 7pm Saturday July 11th and will be available online until 11pm Sunday July 12th.

On Saturday April 18 2020 during the annual citywide Dearborn Gallery Rally comes the SPRINGTIME ARTIST MARKET! Hosted inside the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, this event will feature 50+ local artists, crafters and creatives selling original art, handicrafts and merchandise.
FREE ADMISSION and ALL AGES are welcome!
This indoor event is open from 12 noon until 6pm with plenty of free parking.
